What is  snapman.sys

The process file snapman.sys enables Acronis Snapshot API, process that is part of the Acronis Snapshot Manager software. The file has a disk path of C:\Windows\System 32\Drivers\snapman.sys. The file runs as a kernel mode driver for Windows. If the file is found to be corrupt or missing, Windows will fail to execute. This was the general experience of users whose systems could not find the snapman.sys file. The file plays an important role in system restoration, as it is used in boot partitioning which is essential for recovery of damaged boot partitions in DOS mode. On the other hand, if the file is uninstalled, it could result in a damaged boot partition; ultimately resulting in your system failing to load during the startup process. For some users, the file was found to have conflicts with Windows Vista; and also found to slow down CPU speed. Common file size in bytes is 96,320 on computers that run on Windows 7 or XP.
