Developed by Smith Micro Software, Incorporated, smmanager.exe or Smith Micro Manager, is an executable file that is preinstalled in Dell laptops which main function is to manage program data for the network system and its wireless internet connection modules. The SMManager.exe program file is responsible for the laptop WiFi security and all the other wireless connection aspects, while automatically switching the system network. SMManager.exe program’s Connection Manager Module, also called Smith Micro Connectivity Manager, can be installed in other Windows-based computers while having file paths that are unique to each computer. The program can be seen running as smmanager.exe in the Task Manager window. Smmanager.exe performs other functions such as a dynamic file link library, creates computer background service, local system disk processes, and the auto-start registry program load on startup. SMManager is located in the local folder C:\Windows\system32\smmanager.exe and can be easily uninstalled and reinstalled from the system without any issues.
