The siwinacc.sys file is specifically deployed as the system driver for these supported Silicon Image chipsets and devices, and the siwinacc.sys file is also known as the Windows Accelerator Driver module. The siwinacc.sys file is also packaged with the installer distributions of these Silicon Image firmware and driver software components, which means the siwinacc.sys file is placed in the system upon the installation of these Silicon Image firmware and driver software resources as well as the SATALink Windows Accelerator Driver module.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. siwinacc.sys. is used by Silicon Image SATALink Windows Accelerator Driver Module, If you shut down siwinacc.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
