Digital Media Reader is the process that has the file extension of shwiconem.exe. The file is typically installed by through the software for Alco Micro Multimedia Card Reader, as well as drivers for card readers. The process is also known as Digital Media USB Reader Assistant. This is an essential file if you want the system to recognize your memory cards once inserted through the USB port. However, if you do not wish to have the file launch with every system booting, you may disable the file from your startup tasks. Do not forget to enable it before inserting a memory card into your machine’s USB port. You may locate the file in the following folder: C:\Program Files\Digital Media Reader\shwiconem.exe. The most common size of the file is 135,168 bytes. The file may also come already installed on e-machines; and if this is the case, you may find the file saved in the following path: C:\Program Files\eMachines bay Reader\shwiconem.exe.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. shwiconem.exe. is used by Digital Media Reader, If you shut down shwiconem.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
