The setconfig.exe file is a process that belongs to the software SetConfig Application or Configuration Program, which is developed by Hewlett-Packard (HP) Inc. This file implements the SetConfig Application of a printing device, and its main function is to connect the computer to a network LaserJet printer, manufactured by HP, such as HP LaserJet 1150, HP LaserJet All-In-One or HP LaserJet 1010 Series. It is recommended to leave it on the system or keep this file process running on startup, so a user can safely disable it without jeopardizing the performance of the computer system. As a part of the SetConfig Application, the file setconfig.exe is found in the folder C: /Program Files. It is not a Windows file or associated with Windows operating systems, but it is compatible when the HP printing device is used for a particular Windows computer. The setconfig.exe file is an important component of the SetConfig Application, which is big part of LaserJet printers by HP.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. setconfig.exe. is used by SetConfig Application, If you shut down setconfig.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop setconfig.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is SetConfig Application, from your system.
