What is  servicemgr.exe

The servicemgr.exe process is an executable file that has been reported by many users as a malicious program integrated with spyware-like capabilities. These reports specifically state that the servicemgr.exe process is integrated with a set of functions for gathering all password details and information stored in the system, and the servicemgr.exe process transmits these pieces of information to predesignated Web servers that are managed by its authors via exploited TCP/IP network ports of the infected system. Some user reports also claimed that the servicemgr.exe process is embedded with viral-like functionalities. These reports particularly state that the servicemgr.exe process is capable of disabling EXE files stored in the system and in other partitions and data storage disks that are connected to the infected Windows-based computer. The servicemgr.exe process, according to a few users, is capable of initializing during system startup and operating in the background as a system process during system runtime without user consent.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. servicemgr.exe. is used by Spyware/Virus, If you shut down servicemgr.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
