What is  searchprotection.exe

The searchprotection.exe file is a process that refers to the application Yahoo! Search Protection, which is a part of the Yahoo! search engine by Yahoo. The searchprotection.exe process alerts the user if any changes of the default web browser search engine are made. Its function is enabled when the Yahoo! search engine is used as the default Internet browser. The searchprotection.exe file, or the Yahoo! Search Protection application, is an extra feature bundled in the Yahoo! Toolbar and Yahoo! Messenger applications. Since Yahoo! Search Protection comes with it, everytime those programs are downloaded, the file is automatically installed and located in the C:\Program Files folder. The file searchprotection.exe has variants of file sizes, which include111, 856 bytes, 181,488 bytes, and 224,248 bytes. In addition, this file is not a Windows process, but is compatible with both early and later versions of Windows operating systems by Microsoft Corporation, and also digitally signed by Verisign.
