What is  sdwinsec.exe

Installing Spybot Search and Destroy software will also install a process called Spybot Search and Destroy Security Center Integration, via the executable file sdwinsec.exe. The software is under the company Safer Networking Ltd. The main function of the file is to integrate Spybot Search and Destroy into Windows Security Center. The process integrates into Windows Security Center by default. The file is saved in the following standard path: C:\Program Files\Spybot-Search and Destroy\ sdwinsec.exe. Physical memory is 6.65 MB. Based on users’ accounts, the system sometimes shows an error message that the installer was unable to start. It was determined that the file sdwinsec.exe is run differently by some versions of Windows OS, where the process is run by Windows not as an administrator. In such cases, users had to manually install the file again as Administrator, before it can run properly. With other versions of Windows OS, the file is run as an Administrator account by default.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. sdwinsec.exe. is used by Spybot Search and Destroy, If you shut down sdwinsec.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
