The sdscan.exe process is also recognized as Spybot – Search and Destroy (version 2). This program file is known to be a malware scanner developed by Safer-Networking. The Spybot – Search and Destroy (version 2) provides computers with more than just protection from PC viruses and threats. It targets malicious computer codes, adware, and other PC threats. Its features can detect and remove annoying programs that loads upon PC startup. This program file ensures full deletion of uninstalled or removed files and data. Thus, guarantees confidentiality of such deleted files since it cleans security tracks. The Spybot – Search and Destroy (version 2) is also able to backup important settings in the computer system registry. This program file can be updated on a regular basis and can also constantly sweep your computer system. The Spybot – Search and Destroy also features a setup screen in which, users can choose various components to install such as PC Skins, Languages, etc. It also asks a user if ever back up process should be done before scanning the system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. sdscan.exe. is used by Spybot – Search and Destroy (version 2), If you shut down sdscan.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop sdscan.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Spybot – Search and Destroy (version 2), from your system.
