What is  sdmcp.exe

The file sdmcp.exe, known as MCP Server, belongs to software Stardock MCP Core Services (System Extension and Hooks) by Stardock. This executable file is part of the Object Desktop software, which is a subscription to a suite of desktop enhancement utilities designed to allow the user to customize the Windows desktop. There are seven core programs in Object Desktop that handles the customizations that changes the look and feel of the desktop. WindowBlinds changes the title bar, scrollbar and taskbar with new skins, while WindowFx adds special effects. A program called Fences organizes icons on the desktop, and IconPackager provides new icon themes. DeskScapes provides hundreds of free animated wallpapers that the user can choose from or users can opt to customize the wallpaper according to their preferred designs. The two other features are Start8 that brings back the Windows menu, and Modern8 lets the user run Windows 8 Modern apps in a window on the desktop. Object Desktop users are entitled to receive updates and other application programs for one year after software purchase.

How can I stop sdmcp.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. sdmcp.exe. is used by Object Desktop, If you shut down sdmcp.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop sdmcp.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Object Desktop, from your system.
