The qlbctrl.exe process is also known as the QLB Controller or the Quick Launch Buttons and was created by Hewlett-Packard Development Company. This process allows for the user to quickly launch the buttons on his or her HP keyboard to perform different tasks. Multimedia buttons are used on the keyboard with the aid of the Quick Launch Button. The HP Quick Launch Buttons is HP’s software solution to allow and control the differing functions of the buttons that are included in a user’s desktop or laptop. After installation, this application program stays within the tray and enables users to control the actions that the specific button will run. The available buttons on most laptops are the Quickplay, Rewin, Play/Pause, DVD, Stop, Fast-Forward. Volume up and down, and Mute. Each action that was given to this button are specific and self-explanatory. This provides the efficient and easier use of the keyboard when using the different features of the keyboard.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. qlbctrl.exe. is used by Quick Launch Buttons, If you shut down qlbctrl.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop qlbctrl.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Quick Launch Buttons, from your system.
