What is  osd.exe

Osd.exe is the executable file for Onscreen Display Tray Icon, Netropa's display drivers ensuring proper response between input devices, keyboard, and onscreen display performance found within the laptops of several major computer brands. Created in December 2005, the osd.exe file process is a default application that is installed upon purchase of Netropa laptop. Although osd.exe can be uninstalled, its absence leads to lack of fundamental display facilities. Using a wireless keyboard, however, the osd.exe file will collect responses as it will be detected by the installed osd.exe file, which is a highly indispensable process. Aside from this keyboard functions, osd.exe manipulates on-screen multimedia controls, such as the resolution and volume configuration. Certain sound card models employ osd.exe in their operations. It functions when the system boots and works by providing the system tray icon which the user can perform the required configurations on the stability of the monitor screen display.

How can I stop osd.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. osd.exe. is used by On-Screen Display facilities, If you shut down osd.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop osd.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is On-Screen Display facilities, from your system.
