The osaio.sys process is a component system file implemented by the firmware and driver software resource distributions that are packaged with certain Acer and Intel laptops and hardware devices as one of its required component files. The osaio.sys file is particularly deployed as the OSA I/O Port Driver module, which means the osaio.sys file is used and referenced by the associated firmware or driver software component of the supported Acer or Intel hardware device whenever the OSA I/O Port Driver module needs to be loaded unto the system. Upon loading the OSA I/O Port Driver module unto the system, its functionalities become available to the associated Acer or Intel firmware or driver software resource, in order for the requested operations of the system or the user to be implemented.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. osaio.sys. is used by OSA I/O Port Driver Module, If you shut down osaio.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop osaio.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is OSA I/O Port Driver Module, from your system.
