The file octoshape.exe is associated with the Octoshape Streaming Services software. The process is used by Adobe Flash Player for live streaming of videos on the Internet. Its default path is C:\Documens and Settings\Admin\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\www.macromedia.com\bin\ octoshape.exe. The file is usually installed after a prompt that says users need to install Octoshape first before they can watch a live stream of a video. In some instances, no prompt was displayed, and the user does not remember installing the file and yet, the file somehow found its way into the computer system. Users who reported such cases discovered that their systems fell victims to a malware attack. There have also been reports of another version of octoshape.exe as being spyware. These malicious files were able to execute themselves as octoshape.exe to infect unsuspecting systems. Overall however, users found the legitimate file to be useful, enabling them to watch videos with good audio and image quality.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. octoshape.exe. is used by Octoshape Streaming Services, If you shut down octoshape.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop octoshape.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Octoshape Streaming Services, from your system.
