The file nwmsvc.exe, known as NigthWatchman Service, belongs to software NightWatchman50. This application is a PC power management program that automatically manages computers across a network overnight. In network management, this program has the capability to reduce power usage and deliver significant energy savings while ensuring that user productivity is not affected. From a network management console, NightWatchman securely, remotely, and centrally powers down PC and Mac, shut the units down, or put them in hibernation stage when these units are not in use. Its features include automatic saving of user data when a PC is powered down, or defers shutdown when it detects a user is still active. It has a customizable Web portal that enables remote users to wake office computers via a mobile device. It employs a sophisticated management information system called Enterprise View dashboard to accurately report or predict energy savings, and to obtain a configurable snapshot view of energy and efficiency across any organization.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. nwmsvc.exe. is used by NightWatchman, If you shut down nwmsvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop nwmsvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is NightWatchman, from your system.
