What is nopdb.exe
The process mostly associated with the executable file nopdb.exe is known as Norton Speed Disk. This is a Norton SystemWorks 2003 utility that provides users with a disk defragmenter to help free up space on disk drives. The file also enables the automatic mode of Speed Disk, which means that it launches on pre-determined schedules. While the disk defragmenter was found to be a good tool for maintaining disk drives, the scheduler seems to be a bit of an annoyance to some users, because they find it interrupting their computer activities. This is because the file was found to be consuming up to 80% of system resources when it is performing its task. What users generally resort to is to disable the file to prevent it from launching while the computer is being used. Users who disabled the file perform their own manual disk defragmentation through Speed Disk at their own convenience – generally when they are not using the computer.
