The file nmsvc.exe is a process that is related with surveillance software Covenant Eyes. Covenant Eyes is an application that provides online safety and accountability by monitoring and recording all internet activities in a computer. When the application is disabled, internet connection is disrupted, and can be reinstated only if the application is re-installed. The application does not block or filter internet sites, however, each site and application is logged and activities are recorded. The Accountability Program utilizes a dynamic scoring system that grades each visited website according to the content, and then sends a report to the user's Accountability Partner. The objective of the Accountability Program is to help people accept internet integrity through accountability. Choosing and qualifying an Accountability Partner is a critical factor for this application to maintain user integrity. Users have the option to configure the Covenant Eyes Accountability software to enable either an automatic or a manual log of their internet activities.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. nmsvc.exe. is used by Covenant Eyes, If you shut down nmsvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop nmsvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Covenant Eyes, from your system.
