The networx.exe process is the executable file for the application Networx from SoftPerfect Research. Networx is freeware that is used for measuring speed and usage of network connections like DSL, Ethernet, modem, wireless, and ISDN. Users can employ this tool to evaluate the bandwidth situation objectively. It measures the speed of network and Internet connections, and help users to identify possible sources of problems. Monitoring can be done on all network connections or on a specific network connection only. It records incoming and outgoing traffic on a line chart that is logged to a file, so users can view statistics about daily, weekly, and monthly bandwidth usage and duration of dial up. The network information and testing tool that it contains can display the applications using the Internet connection. This software can be utilized as a tool to track down suspicious network activity characteristic of Trojans and hacker attacks, and it can be programmed to disconnect from the Internet automatically when network activity exceeds certain levels.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. networx.exe. is used by Networx, If you shut down networx.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop networx.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Networx, from your system.
