The process file netmeter.exe is recognized as the launch driver for NetMeter software which was created by ReadError. The Netmeter software is an easy to use software and its main function is to monitor bandwidth usage. This software will allow hassle-free checks and quantify all the inbound and outbound data from the user's internet connection. Bandwidth consumption may become a critical issue when for internet connections. When bandwidth consumption has reached a specified limit, it may clog the connection and the internet service may be compromised or it may even be disconnected. This application software will seamlessly monitor all online activity as well as traffic speed. It is presented in graph form, for easy interpretation. The download speed is in red, while the upload speed has a green indicator. There is also a totals and reports sections that cover daily, weekly, monthly consumption.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. netmeter.exe. is used by NetMeter by ReadError, If you shut down netmeter.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop netmeter.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is NetMeter by ReadError, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as NetMeter by ReadError, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
