What is  netbt.sys

The netbt.sys process is also known as the MBT Transport driver and it is owned by the Microsoft Corporation. This process incorporates NetBios over Internet Protocol and Transmission Control Protocol. The netbt.sys process is a 32-bit executable file that needs no direct user interface. Its Drivers directory contains driver files commonly with a .SYS extension. This Device driver enables Windows and other applications to work with different communication protocols like TCP/IP and hardware devices. The original files come with two security hashes for the netbt.sys process. This security hash is developed with the use of scanning all bytes within the given file as identical files must have the same hashes. MD5 is considered to be outdated and less secure than the newer SHA1. The netbt.sys file is a PE style file and is not internally referenced by any other file. This process is a device driver and is a component of the standard Windows file set from Microsoft. This program is considered to be safe and secure by its users.
