What is  ndserv.exe

The process ndserv.exe is a netDeploy Launcher NT Service from Open Software Associates, Ltd. that is used to launch the application netDeploy. This software is an application deployment utility that allow users to deploy software applications across any network. The user can also access these files from the network, whether from the Internet, a local area network (LAN), or an intranet. The software has two component applications, the Launcher application and the Packer application. The Launcher application uses remote systems to determine which files to download from the server and identifies required system changes to complete the installation. The Packer application is used to catalog a netDeploy project, which is an application package that is to be installed in the remote system. Application and software packages are automatically updated, preventing users from reinstalling existing versions on their system. Since the packaged software work on various platforms, users can deploy applications to desktop systems that include UNIX, Macintosh, OS/2 systems, and Windows.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ndserv.exe. is used by netDeploy, If you shut down ndserv.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
