What is msimtf.dll
Msimtf.dll is a process used by the system to open and launch the files required to run programs and applications in all Windows files and folders, the main programs which comprise the Windows operating system. If the msimtf.dll file is missing from the system, the computer cannot be able to launch any program and the Windows will become unresponsive. The driver links that are statically linked to make the msimtf.dll file work are: advapi32.dll, kernel32.dll, gdi32.dll, msctf.dll, user32.dll, msvcrt.dll, and version.dll. One of its features is the MsimtfIsWindowFiltered test which determines if the currently opened window is filtered by Active Input Method Manager or IMM. IMM is a collaborative management system that monitors Web-based workflow that includes in-browser management and the playback user input. It also includes the RDF and OWL metadata frameworks to set up the relationship between media assets to facilitate tracking as well as complex searches. However, it was discontinued sometime in 2009.
