The process msblast.exe, which is a type of an executable or EXE file, is a module that is known as W32.Blaster.B.Worm, which is related or belongs to MSBlast Internet Worm. This kind of worm uses a vulneratbility in DCOM or RPC through TCP port 135 that is intended to infect certain versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, particularly Windows XP and Windows 2000. As a worm, it is considered to be a malicious file that must be deleted as soon as possible, because it is made to infect data, from processes to programs, that are stored on the computer system. This worm is also called as Blaster Worm, Lovsan Lovesan, and MSBlast. Like other executable (EXE) modules, msblast.exe is easy to delete and remove out of the computer system, whether the Windows OS is Windows 2000 or Windows XP. It is important to have it deleted immediately, so it cannot make any further damage on the performance of the system, as well as the functions of the different programs installed on the PC.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. msblast.exe. is used by MSBlast Internet Worm, If you shut down msblast.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop msblast.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is MSBlast Internet Worm, from your system.
