The modem.sys is a DLL (Direct Link Library) file that is responsible for the Modem Device Driver in applications like Windows 7 Professional Edition 64 bit. The driver is the software component that goes with the modem, which enables the operating system to use the device properly. The driver software accesses the DLL files contained in modem.sys when the modem is being used. Virus that spreads through the social network can infect this DLL file, so the installation of anti-malware in the system is very important. Malware that enter through the DLL file can cause errors that could affect the whole system.
