What is  key.exe

The key.exe process is an executable file that has been reported by many users as a variant of the Backdoor.Trojan program, which is a malicious application that can exploit the certain backdoor vulnerabilities of the infected system. Data security and privacy may be compromised when the key.exe process is actively running in the system, according to some users. Upon system startup, the key.exe process requests for the system to allow it to run in the background. Afterwards, many users claimed that the key.exe process requests for the system to allow it to contact predesignated Web servers, in order to initiate downloading processes for a wide variety of malicious applications that can gather data from the infected computer and transmit it to remote servers on the Internet. These malicious applications immediately initialize its self-activation functionalities once it has been completely downloaded unto the system, according to many user reports. The key.exe file should be removed from the system with the installed anti-malware program.
