The hsfbs2s2.sys file is one of the processes that deploys on start up, and this process is Windows certified and belongs to the Soft56 Modem Driver suite, which was developed by Conexant Systems. While it is important enough to be included in the System32 subfolder, the process itself is not core to Windows operations and can be controlled by the user by using the Settings tab in Control Panel to affect some system efficiency by disabling the process. Also known as the HS_HWB2 WDM driver, this process is hardly used as a delivery system for malware hence is low on the threat scale. With hardware today reliant on separated modems and modems downloading their drivers on the system, this process can be removed or disabled, provided corresponding hardware settings are also disabled. Process is installed in System 32 subfolder, so replicates of the process in other folders should be a warning of possible malware infection

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hsfbs2s2.sys. is used by Conexant Soft56, If you shut down hsfbs2s2.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hsfbs2s2.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Conexant Soft56, from your system.
