What is  hotcore.sys

The Hotcore.sys file is a process called Hotbackup helper driver that is part of the application HotBackup created by Paragon Software Group. This process is a driver. It does not use a visible window. It is not a core file for Windows. A driver is a computer application that controls or operates a device connected to the computer. It is operating-system-specific and dependent on hardware. It acts as translator between the operating system or application and the hardware device to simplify programming. Paragon Hot Backup or Hot Processing allows you to lock a partition that needs backup without interrupting Windows or other programs. It resembles copy-on-write technology. It lets you backup a partition on Windows and other programs online. It offers flexibility for storage of snapshot and current data. It provides predictable amount of space recovered through deletion of snapshots. Data changed while performing hot backup is saved in special temporary file and put in the proper place after the process. Only the snapshot data at launching time of hot backup is stored in the backup image.
