It offers built-in hosts file updater and built-in hosts editor. It can disable or enable hosts file. It scans the hosts for duplicates, possible hijacks and errors. It has hosts file backup manager and exclusion list.
How can I stop hostssrv.exe and should I?
Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hostssrv.exe. is used by HostsServer, If you shut down hostssrv.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hostssrv.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is HostsServer, from your system.
