Digitally signed by Portrait Displays Incorporated, hookmanager.exe is the file executable for HookManager Application, a Context Menu Utility for Display Tune. Hookmanager.exe loads the user privileges upon account logging on to the system, and is executed by dthtml.exe. DtHtml.exe, the SmartControl in Portrait Displays, a technique used to meet efficiency in compressing video data. Portrait Displays Incorporated is the first company to provide Smart Display Operating System Software. It has headquarters in California, and has sales operations located in Germany, and in Taiwan. The Portrait Displays software implements an extensible platform for supporting embedded controls in all display monitors and technologies by providing basic functions for setup, image rotation, tuning, service and maintenance, as well as advanced features like color calibration, asset management, picture-in-picture, and theft deterrence. The Portrait Displays software allows the monitor and display manufacturers in providing an especially customized cost-effective interface to its integrated set of features.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hookmanager.exe. is used by HookManager Application, If you shut down hookmanager.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hookmanager.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is HookManager Application, from your system.
