The hkcontrol.exe file is the process Hotkeycontrol XP that is used by the application Hotkeycontrol XP developed by Digital-miner.com. This program uses an icon on the taskbar. It uses a visible window. It is not a system process. It records inputs. Hotkeycontrol XP is a hotkey utility that lets you set hotkeys for doing common tasks such as ejecting CD-ROM drivers, opening files, controlling active windows, restarting the computer, changing volume, controlling media player like Winamp 3 and Windows, typing macros or commonly used text and more. You can use hotkeys for 3D games. It displays text or image files on screen with translucency. It lets you control active windows such as set translucent, hide/show, set always on top or close window. It supports shutdown, suspend and hibernate of computer. It lets you use single keys like function keys instead of using combination hotkeys.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hkcontrol.exe. is used by Hotkeycontrol XP, If you shut down hkcontrol.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hkcontrol.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Hotkeycontrol XP, from your system.
