Most reports by anti-virus programs and end users identify the higehsg.dll file as malware. TrendMicro recognizes this process as TROJ_FAKEALRT.AI. The program runs when you boot Windows using the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ShellServiceObjectDelayLoad. Malware or malicious software is a program created to access private systems without the knowledge or consent of the owner, to interrupt the normal functions of the target system or to steal private or sensitive information. It can be in the form of codes, active content, scripts or a software. It is also known as intrusive or hostile software. It can also disguise as genuine software through an official Website that offers promising software with the malware embedded in it and a tracking application that gathers information such as marketing statistics. A Trojan is a type of malware that is not self-replicating. It may seem to perform a desirable action but it actually drops malicious payloads on the target system through a backdoor that is not visible to the user.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. higehsg.dll. is used by TROJ_FAKEALRT.AI, If you shut down higehsg.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
