What is  hidservice.exe

The hidservice.exe file is the process called Generic Service for HID Keyboard Input Collections that is used by the application HidService Application by Packard Bell Services or Packard Bell BV. This is not a visible program. It is not a system process. HID or human interface device is a computer device that directly interacts with humans, and usually takes input from or delivers output to them. HID is a term given by Mike Van Flandern from Microsoft to propose the creation of Human Input Device working group to the USB committee. The main purpose of HID research is to enable innovation of computer input devices and to simplify installation processes for these devices. HID-defined devices provide self-describing packages with several data types and formats. A single HID driver parses data and supports dynamic association of application functionality with data I/O that enables rapid development and innovation and the diversification of new HIDs.

How can I stop hidservice.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hidservice.exe. is used by HIdService Application, If you shut down hidservice.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hidservice.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is HIdService Application, from your system.
