The file hcmsoundchanger.exe, known as SoundChanger.exe, belongs to software HDMI Control Manager by Toshiba. HDMI (High Definition Media Interface) is a compact audio/video interface for transmitting uncompressed video data and compressed/uncompressed digital audio data from an HMDI compliant device to a compatible device. HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control), which is called HDMI Control Protocol, is the feature in the Toshiba Laptop that allows for one button control of supported system functions. The button controller, also called the HDMI Control Manager, is enabled by the driver software, which is called upon by the executable file hcmsoundchanger.exe. For the Control Manager to work, all HDMI enabled devices that are connected to the computer must support the CEC feature. CEC allows the user to command and control up to ten CEC-enabled devices connected through HDMI by using just one remote control. CEC enabled devices are allowed by CEC to command and control each other without users intervention.
