Most reports by anti-virus programs and end users classify the hboeaddon.exe file as an adware. The process is used by the application Hotbar Outlook Tools by hotbar.com. This is not a visible program. It can alter or monitor the behavior of other programs. It runs when you load Windows. It uses the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. The program uses a toolbar on Internet Explorer, Outlook Express and Microsoft Outlook that includes emoticons and search. It displays pop-ups of advertisements. It also includes the Hotbar Weather Service icon on the tray. An adware is a software that is supported by advertising. It shows advertisements automatically in order to gain income for the author. These ads may show up on the program user interface or on the screen while the user is installing the software. One purpose of an adware is to analyze which sites the user visits in order to determine and present the advertisements that are related to their interests.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hboeaddon.exe. is used by Hotbar Outlook Tools, If you shut down hboeaddon.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hboeaddon.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Hotbar Outlook Tools, from your system.
