The hal.exe process is an executable file that serves as the program dispatcher of the Trojan.Win32.VB.azs application, as reported by many users. The Trojan.Win32.VB.azs software is a malicious application that can compromise the data security and system stability of a Windows-based computer, some user reports claimed. When activated, the hal.exe process instructs the system to allow the Trojan.Win32.VB.azs program to contact predesignated Web servers and initiate data transmissions between those Web servers and the client computer that is infected with the Trojan.Win32.VB.azs application. These downloads usually include other malicious programs that can gather data, such as Internet browsing information from the default Web browser of the system and other pieces of data stored in the infected computer, while these uploads are normally the data that was collected by those malicious applications. Many users reported that the hal.exe process can run on widely used versions of Microsoft Windows.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hal.exe. is used by Trojan.Win32.VB.azs, If you shut down hal.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
