The software PatchLink Update Agent installs a process generally called AgentEngine Service for Windows NT and above through the executable gravitixservice.exe file. The file appears to be related to security patching of the software, as was mentioned by users. Other users have also mentioned that the file is related to the auto update feature of the software. There seems to be no other available information that can pinpoint what the file’s primary purpose is; but users generally leave the file alone since they trust the software that installed it, and it has not been identified as a security threat. PatchLink Update Agent is utilized by network administrators to keep their servers up-to-date. The software enables network administrators to check for system vulnerabilities, and then deploy security, application and system patches to address these vulnerabilities; and as previously mentioned, to keep the servers as well as end-user systems updated. Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. gravitixservice.exe. is used by AgentEngine Service for Windows NT and above, If you shut down gravitixservice.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop gravitixservice.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is AgentEngine Service for Windows NT and above, from your system.
