What is  gizmo.exe

The process gizmo.exe is also known as SIPphone Application and is part of the Gizmo version 2 software. The software has been developed by the Arainia Solutions. Gizmo.exe uses the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). SIP is a signalling protocol which is usually used to control communications sessions. These sessions occur during voice and video calls over Internet Protocol. The SIP enables the user to create, modify, and terminate two-party and multiparty sessions. There are other SIP applications where the user may see gizmo.exe. Video conferencing, streaming multimedia distribution, instant messaging, presence information, file transfer and online games are examples of these applications. The process gizmo.exe also allows the user to make mini-applications become desktop features. These mini-applications are called gadgets. The user will just have to allow the process to run in the background to be able to see the benefits of the application. Executing the application will start its functionalities to work.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. gizmo.exe. is used by Gizmo, If you shut down gizmo.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
