The file geedd.dll is malware that is associated with the Trojan Vundo family, and is classified by threat experts as Adware.Vundo. Adware.Vundo is malware that interfere with the normal working of the computer system with repeated advertising popups. This adware, which loads as a browser helper object (BHO) can hijack the Internet browser and block access to websites such as Google. This malware injects the direct link library (DLL) file into the system's memory by bypassing the security of the Web browser program. The Vundo Trojan creates hidden files from the main Trojan DLL and remains hidden during an anti-virus scan. The Vundo Trojan infection is typically caused by opening an email attachment carrying the Trojan, or through a variety of browser exploits such as vulnerabilities in popular browser plugins such as Java. It is also known to spread from files downloaded from peer-to-peer file sharing sites, or dropped by mass mailing worms.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. geedd.dll. is used by Trojan Vundo, If you shut down geedd.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop geedd.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Trojan Vundo, from your system.
