What is  ftpserver.exe

The ftpserver.exe file is part of the Sharpdesk software. The EXE file is a Network Scanner Tool utility or a Quick ‘n Easy FTP Server 3.0 process which is being used by the FTPServer Application program. It provides the user a way to create and manage Send to Desktop locations. It allows the user to export and import e-mail addresses without making another input of these addresses to create their new locations. The user can create and manage e-mail, FTP, Fax, i-Fax and Group destinations directly from his desktop. The ftpserver.exe file is installed at startup when the user installs the Sharpdesk software which is included in Sharp network scanners and multifunction printers. The EXE file is saved in a folder on the computer of the user while this file is running in the background. An icon will appear in the System Tray while ftpserver.exe is running. The EXE file is required if the user has a Sharp network scanner or multifunction printer in order for him to utilize its scan-to-network feature.

How can I stop ftpserver.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ftpserver.exe. is used by Sharpdesk, If you shut down ftpserver.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ftpserver.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Sharpdesk, from your system.
