Ftp.exe is the executable file for File Transfer Protocol, the standard network protocol for transferring files between hosts across a TCP-based network or the Internet. FTP is based on a client-server architecture which uses separate data and control data connections each on the client and server. Its users authenticate themselves by a clear-text sign-in platform, normally by username and password, although they can connect anonymously when the server is set to allow it. FTP is frequently secured by FTPS when a secure transmission by hiding the username and password is required. When username and password is granted access, the username goes to the server by the USER command, while the password gets sent by the PASS command. When the server accepts the provided information, the session will commence. Although users are asked to use their email address instead of password, there is no verification done on the provided data, and many FTP hosts who provide software updates provide anonymous logins. Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ftp.exe. is used by File Transfer Protocol, If you shut down ftp.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ftp.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is File Transfer Protocol, from your system.
