The fsgk.sys file is the process called F-Secure Gatekeepr for Windows used by the application F-Secure Gatekeeper created by F-Secure Corporation. This process file is a driver. A driver is a computer application that controls or operates a certain device connected to the computer. It communicates with the device usually through a communications subsystem or a computer bus connected to the hardware. It is not a visible application. It is not a core file for Windows. The fsgk.sys file has a digital signature from F-Secure Corporation with certificate issued by GlobalSign Time Stamping Authority. This process automatically starts on drivers installed. F-Secure Internet Gatekeeper prevents malware and viruses from spreading to end user desktops and corporate servers. It stops the spread of malware through Web traffic, file transfers and E-mail. It allows anonymous Internet traffic. It stops encrypted viruses by scanning and decrypting encrypted ZIP files. It filters spam and E-mails by subject.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. fsgk.sys. is used by F-Secure Gatekeeper, If you shut down fsgk.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop fsgk.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is F-Secure Gatekeeper, from your system.
