The file fsdfw,sys, known as F-Secure Internet shield driver (32 bit), is a driver file that belongs to software F-Secure Internet Shield by F-Secure. The process Internet Shield is a component of the application F-Secure Internet Security. This software utilizes the DeepGuard cloud computing technology to ensure fast protection against new threats that emerge on the Internet. The F-Secure Lab works continuously to ensure that the technology is constantly updated, and able to identify the latest emerging threats. Security updates are regularly provided to users to provide immediate reaction and fast cure to these new threats. Internet Security also provides real-time protection against rootkits, worms, viruses, zero-day attacks, and trojans. The feature called Browsing Protection tells the user which sites are safe to enter, issues warning about those sites that are suspicious, and automatically blocks harmful sites. Other features include the automatic detection of spam and email schemes, removal of secretly installed spyware, and the installation of a personal firewall that blocks hackers.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. fsdfw.sys. is used by F-Secure Internet shield, If you shut down fsdfw.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop fsdfw.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is F-Secure Internet shield, from your system.
