The fmmservice.exe file is the process called FMMService that is used by the application Flarion Technologies FMM Service or Flarion Mobility Manager created by Flarion Technologies Inc. It is not a visible program. It is not a core file for Windows that means the operating system does not require this process to run. It is a non-system process that originates from the application installed in the system. The fmmservice.exe file has no digital signature. The process automatically starts on services installed and on running processes. Flarion Technologies, Inc. is a developer of FLASH-OFDM and OFDMA [orthogonal frequency division multiple access] technology designed for mobile broadband IP [Internet protocol] services. Company products include modems [desktop and PC card], RadioRouter base station, system software for end-to-end FLAHS-OFDM network that can be used by mobile operators and embedded chipsets.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. fmmservice.exe. is used by FMMService or Flarion Mobility Manager Service, If you shut down fmmservice.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop fmmservice.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is FMMService or Flarion Mobility Manager Service, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as FMMService or Flarion Mobility Manager Service, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
