The flashicon.exe file is the process called USB Card Reader Utility used by the application GENERIC USB Card Reader created by Neodio. This program uses a visible window. The process runs when you start Windows. The registry key for this process is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. The flashicon.exe file has no digital signature. It is not a core file for Windows that means this process is not required for the operating system to run. This process automatically starts on the local machine of autorun registry entries or on running processes. A card reader is an input device that reads data from card-shaped storage media. A USB card reader is a USB plug and play device that copies, reads and backs up data from flash memory cards like MicroSD, SD card, SIM, MiniSD and others.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. flashicon.exe. is used by GENERIC USB Card Reader, If you shut down flashicon.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop flashicon.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is GENERIC USB Card Reader, from your system.
