The flagfoxupdater.exe file is the process called Flagfox Updater. This program is not visible. It can monitor programs. Flagfox is a plug-in or add-on for Mozilla Firefox that shows a flag icon of the current physical location of the Web server. It lets you know your connection and provides added awareness to your browsing activity that can help determine legal matters and native languages that may apply. It loads Geotool when you click the flag icon. Geotool is a detailed map of the city where the server is in with other relevant information like ISP and local time. It enables automatic language translation, research for SEO and Web development, malware checks and site safety, DNS and Whois information, page code validation and quick URL shortening. Flagfox is a free and open source software. It uses minimal resources. It functions by contacting an IP address database within the extension instead of depending on TLD [top level domain] roots such as .uk or .com.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. flagfoxupdater.exe. is used by Flagfox Updater, If you shut down flagfoxupdater.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop flagfoxupdater.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Flagfox Updater, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Flagfox Updater, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
