The executable process file firefly.exe (version 1.0 svn-1586) belongs to Firefly and is identified as Firefly Service or Remote Control Software that is part of the software Operating System or Firefly Media Server from Snap Stream Media, as developed by Strap Stream Media and by Fire Fly-Remote Control, Ron Pedde or firefly studio. The process file firefly.exe also goes by the product name of Firefly soft Phone from the company Virbiage Pty Ltd.. The process file is found to be located in Program Files\snapstream media\firefly folder as located in subfolder C:\Program Files in the directory D:\Firefly Media Server. On Windows 7/XP the process file has a file size of 499,712 bytes (66% of all incidences), 34,379 bytes, 38,009 bytes or 37,090 bytes where it is not considered as CPU intensive, and neither does it have a visible window, and is not a Windows system file. The process file has been issued with a certificate by Comodo Time Stamp Signer as signed by Firefly Media Services. The process file functions as a monitor application and it disseminates data on open ports to the Internet or LAN.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. firefly.exe. is used by Firefly Service, If you shut down firefly.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop firefly.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Firefly Service, from your system.
