The evteng.exe process is also known as the Intel PROSet/Wireless Event Log that was created by Intel Corporation. The Intel PROSet/Wireless Event Log is prevalently used to edit, set up and manage network profiles to enable users to connect to a network. Advanced settings are included such as channel selections and power management to enable the setting up of ad-hoc networks. This program contain a Wi-Fi Connection Utility to let the users see their present connection details such as, speed, current network name and signal quality. The evteng.exe process also allows the user to scan for available Wi-Fi networks within its vicinity as well as troubleshoot problems with their wireless connections. This process is a module of the Intel software that is used to support the integration of Intel wireless LAN adapters. It automatically starts whenever the user boots his or her computer system. Since many computer systems contain integrated Intel wireless chips, a user’s computer system may need the evteng.exe process in order for his or her system to function properly.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. evteng.exe. is used by Intel PROSet/Wireless Event Log, If you shut down evteng.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop evteng.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Intel PROSet/Wireless Event Log, from your system.
