Bundled in the program Broadcom Advanced Control Suite by Broadcom Corporation, the bascstray.exe file is a module that is designed to provide a tray icon on the desktop of a computer, including laptop and notebook type. The bascstray.exe process specifically notifies the computer user regarding the status of the software Broadcom Advanced Control Suite, otherwise known as BACS, which is an application that is used for modems and set top boxes, to enable the governance of network, with features include tests, diagnostics and analyses. The bascstray.exe file may not be an essential module in the functioning of the computer system, but this process is recommended to continue running, as the user may find it useful in determining the status, or getting informed about the performance of the software that houses bascstray.exe. Also, it is possible that the bascstray.exe file may execute other processes that are also essential in the enabling of the program BACS.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. bascstray.exe. is used by Broadcom Advanced Control Suite, If you shut down bascstray.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
