The b2k.exe file is the process called Runs regular applications as Windows services that is used by the software AppToService developed by Basta Computing, Inc. The location of this executable file is in the subfolder C:\Program Files. The size of the file is 45,056 bytes. There is no visible window for this program. AppToService serves as Windows Unicode console program that allows you to execute regular servers and applications as Windows services. You can have the functions of a Windows service such as running a program without a user logged in to the computer, running an application under a particular user account, ability to enable a program to survive logon/logoff sequences, thus saving operational costs or resources from restarting for every new user. The installer has 32-bit and 64-bit versions to automatically select version that matches the system. This process is digitally signed with Authenticode certificate. It is packed by native MSI Windows compliant installer and validated with Windows ACK or App Certification Kit to comply with Windows 8. The process does not mess up with your registry and virtually works with any application.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. b2k.exe. is used by AppToService, If you shut down b2k.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop b2k.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is AppToService, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as AppToService, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
