Technically named as Azalia Mixer Selector or Azalia Mixer Select, the azmixersel.exe file is a component of the software Realtek High Definition Audio, or Realtek Azalia Mixer Selector, also Realtek High Definition Audio Driver or Realtek Azalia Mixer Select, which is produced by Realtek Semiconductor. This process is able to manage the volume setting for the sound card or RealTek audio mixer function of the computer system. It is advisable that the azmixersel.exe file is stored and remain running in the background, so the user has the control to the volume or level of computer for watching video clips, or listening to audio, such as songs or recordings. When the software is installed, the azmixersel.exe file, along with other processes, including the modules that call for it for execution, is downloaded as well, and stores itself on a particular file folder location, and runs in the background, so this needs to keep active whenever it is used.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. azmixersel.exe. is used by Realtek High Definition Audio or Realtek High Definition Audio Driver, If you shut down azmixersel.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop azmixersel.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Realtek High Definition Audio or Realtek High Definition Audio Driver, from your system.
